RESEARCH & EXTENSION STATION, COA
The Station organizes production and marketing groups for five commodities: rice, dryland crops, fruits, vegetables and flowers. Farmers are assisted with grading, brand naming, cooperative marketing, direct marketing and exporting of agricultural products. The Station also provides assistance in qualification of brands for vegetable or fruit products, and helps organizing strategic alliances in marketing and processing to enhance product competitiveness.

Various agricultural training programs have been undertaken to improve farmers' skills. Assistance is given to 4-H club activities to rear a new generation of farmers. Home economics education is offered to rural housewives to improve their farming techniques and health knowledge. The Station also holds cooking classes and contests. The “Mama Tian” cooking team has been organized to help rural women prepare local cuisine so that they can increase family income. The agricultural leisure resort plan helps to integrate local cultural and natural resources, and to revive the community and beautify living environment. |

Agricultural news is released through both media and Internet. Agricultural journals, newsletters and technical brochures have been published, both as printed documents and on Internet. A farmer and consumer service center has been established to provide updated information and assist solving problems. |
