Statice

Statice (Limonium spp.) production was traditionally restricted to highland in the summer and lowland in the winter, due to insufficient low temperatures, in Taiwan. Low temperature treatment and long production time caused high production cost but low quality of flowers for growers. Through continuously selection and crossing under Taiwan climates, Tainan DARES has developed statice cultivars with early flowering and heat tolerance habit. The station had released variety Tainan No.1~2 & Nandares No.3 have low vernalization requirements for flowering.
